In 1987, Larry and Donna Root founded Rooters American Maintenance, Inc. and as of 2005 has a DBA of Rooters Asphalt. Larry and Donna managed the family business for 26 years and in 2013 their son, John Garcia, and his wife Jill took over. John has been involved in the business for 24 years, and is still an active operator/superintendent for the company.

Early on, Rooters centered its business on asphalt maintenance. We continue to do sealing, crack filling and striping yet today. In 1996, the company decided to branch out into asphalt paving, and has since increased their area of specialties to include athletic tracks and field events, road construction, milling, and lime and cement stabilization.

Rooters also does site construction, which includes concrete work and storm sewer installation to name a few. Rooters has the bonding capabilities for all size jobs. Our main jobs are of commercial size, but we also service residential customers as well. We continuously increase our equipment and truck fleet to allow us to accommodate all size jobs, from commercial to residential.

    SERVICES WE OFFER

Crack filling is used as a first defense against pavement deterioration because it offers several important benefits such as keeping water from entering and weakening the base or sub-base.

Sealing is typically applied in thin coats and is used to protect off-highway pavement surfaces against gasoline, oil, salt, water, and ultraviolet rays.

A parking lot is one of the first things noticed by customers, clients, and visitors entering a facility. The color contrast of a newly striped lot is attractive and is a good indication that the property owner emphasizes maintenance.

To help preserve or improve the flow of traffic on a parking lot, Rooter’s Asphalt will either re-stripe or lay out new markings per customer’s blueprints or our design

Rooter’s Asphalt can meet all your needs for building and maintaining outdoor tennis courts. We are an experienced tennis court installation contractor and have installed many outdoor tennis courts in the Metro East area.
Our outdoor running tracks are installed all over the Metro-East area. As paving contractors, we use the same paving process and much of the same equipment for contract running track paving projects. Our expertise in paving, lends well in producing quality, durable running tracks that are professional and enjoyable to run on. We can install and pave custom running tracks of varying lengths, widths, and designs.
Concrete provides excellent performance throughout the service life of the structure when it is mixed properly and caution is taken during the curing process. However, once the mix has been laid and dries, the aging process begins. Without ongoing maintenance, water may enter through cracks and holes may form, undermining the substrate. In this case, the most effective form of concrete repair is to remove and replace the deteriorated area.
We can clear land, stabilize soil, do build up and installation of pads, and do so on time and within budget.  You can rest easy knowing that your paved or concrete structure will come to life situated on stable, well prepared ground using the best materials and decades of site preparation experience Rooters Asphalt brings to every job.

    SERVICES WE OFFER

To ensure the safety of the traveling public, roadway drainage is very important. As we construct new roadways it is also important to install new roadway drainage. Our storm sewer installation experience ranges from all types and sizes of storm sewers. With new storm water regulations taking place all around the country it is very important to keep up with changing designs.
Concrete is one of the most important construction materials used in a variety of site structures including parking lots, parking garages, walkways, curbs, gutters, dumpster pads, parking bumpers, catch basins, and walls and ramps. Rooters Asphalt has decades of experience maintaining and repairing these structures.
Whether you need spot reseeding or your entire commercial property  reseeded, Rooters Asphalt has the experience and to get the job done efficiently with the highest quality of workmanship.
Retaining walls have long been a fundamental element in commercial and residential construction. And there’s no wonder why. A structural retaining wall adds strength and appeal to any commercial design.

Structural retaining walls offer foundational support as well as visual interest to almost any commercial project. Choose from modular block, rock or stone retaining walls.

Lime stabilization is a very useful, cost effective and environmentally friendly form of creating a capping layer from suitable in-situ soils.
In some situations lime stabilization is considered for sub-base / roadbase layers.
Recycling of the road surface is one of the main reasons for milling a road surface. Milling is widely used for pavement recycling today, where the pavement is removed and ground up to be used as the aggregate in new pavement. For asphalt surfaces the product of milling is reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), which can be recycled in the asphalt hot mix asphalt (pavement) by combining with new aggregate and asphalt cement (binder) or a recycling agent. This reduces the impact that resurfacing has on the environment.
